Chapter 2.2
Question 23
One week in October in Iqaluit, Nunavut, the daily high temperatures were -4.6, -0.5, 1.2, 2.3, -1.1 and -3.0 celsius. What was the mean daily high temperature that week?
Remember, the mean is adding up all the numbers and dividing it by how many numbers there are.
Put all the numbers in order. Add, then divide to get the answer.
Add up all the numbers.
4.6 + 3.0 + 1.1 + 0.5 = 9.2
1.2 + 1.5 + 2.3 = 5
-9.2 - 5 = 4.2
Divide 4.2 by 7.
4.2 / 7 = 0.6
